Presented to a Greater Washington Government Contractor for distinguished financial and operational accomplishments, and for outstanding contributions during the past year to its employees, the government contracting industry, and the U.S. Government.
Four awards will be presented in this category, stratified by gross annual revenue using the most recent fiscal year-end revenues:
- Contractor of the Year (less than $25 million)
- Contractor of the Year ($25 million to $75 million)
- Contractor of the Year ($75 million to $300 million)
- Contractor of the Year (greater than $300 million)
Criteria
Applicant must be headquartered in or have significant operations (1000+ employees in the region) in the Greater Washington D.C. region. Submit essays (maximum of 250 words each) on each of the following equally weighted criteria.
- Overall Description of the Company (provide description of products or services offered, customer base, number of employees, locations [including headquarters] and distinguishing characteristics). This essay is not weighted.
- Quality of work life (e.g., professional development, training, and educational opportunities)
- Community service [e.g., corporate, civic and professional involvement and leadership]
- Revenues (e.g., revenue growth 2006 vs. 2005; relative revenues from government [include subcontracts with primes] and commercial customers; relative revenues from prime and subcontracts)
- Significant accomplishments during 2006 (e.g., acquisitions, substantial organic growth, new contract wins, industry awards received or professional designations earned)
- Government customer testimonials (maximum of three). Attach to application.
Presented to a Greater Washington Government Contracting Executive who is recognized for making outstanding contributions to his/her company, the community and the government contracting industry during the past year.
Three awards will be presented in this category, stratified by gross annual revenue using the most recent fiscal year-end revenues:
- Executive of the Year (less than $75 million)
- Executive of the Year ($75 million to $300 million)
- Executive of the year (greater than $300 million)
Criteria
Applicant must be a senior executive of a government contracting company and must reside in the Greater Washington D.C. region. Submit essays (maximum of 250 words each) on each of the following equally weighted criteria.
- Overall description of the company (provide description of products or services offered, customer base, number of employees, and locations [including headquarters]). This essay is not weighted.
- Personal contributions and leadership provided to the community
- Personal contributions and leadership provided to the government contracting industry
- Personal contributions and leadership provided to the company (e.g., personal impact on key initiatives and/or successes achieved, unique leadership attributes, etc.)
Presented to a Greater Washington Government Procurement Executive who has demonstrated leadership and vision in building a spirit of partnership with the private sector and/or leading change in the procurement community.
Criteria
Applicant must be a senior procurement or operational executive. Submit essays (maximum of 250 words each) on each of the following equally weighted criteria.
- Innovation displayed by the applicant
- Broad implications of the initiative or leadership beyond the applicant’s own agency or program
- Teamwork displayed by working with the private sector business community
Honors a current or former Greater Washington executive of a government contracting company(ies) who has an established reputation for professional excellence, and has demonstrated a consistent track record of growth and success and a history of personal contributions to community, company and the industry.
The Hall of Fame Award is presented at the discretion of the Awards Selection Committee and, as such, nominations are not solicited for this award.
